ATV MB held our AGM this past week. It was well attended and we would like to thank our member clubs and the general public for attending. Brian Wiltshire
from Brandon Search and Rescue presented on the Adventure Smart system. It was a very informative and interesting presentation.

For backcountry travel, preparedness is extremely important. The Adventure Smart system provides an app that can be used to keep your family and friends aware of where you’re going and what time you’re expected to return.

The Adventuresmart app helps the search and rescue teams pinpoint highly probable areas to start looking based on where you were going, start point, end point, what gear you have, food…etc.

You can download this application to your smartphone.

We would like to thank Brian Wiltshire for an excellent presentation, if you would like more information on the Adventure Smart system please reach out to the Brandon Club via email.

Another excellent way to stay in touch is through the ATV MB map application with the “share my location” feature. You can set it from every 5 sec to 10 mins. Cell coverage is needed with the paid subscription of $6 dollars per year. Well worth the investment.

Board and Membership Discussion.

The membership perfided good discussion centered around funding proposals and funding disbursement to the clubs. It is exciting to be part of a member club and having supporting funds to build and maintain our designated trails. We encourage any new up and coming clubs to join the ATVMB team and to help build a designated trail system in the province of Manitoba. We still have lots of work to do and there’s still many hurdles to cross. But as a team we are guaranteed to have great success.

Club Update, Year in Review

Each Club gave a report concerning their last year’s activities and achievements. With many new maintenance projects on the go with much needed improvements on the trail systems.

Board Elections

ATV MB will have a full Slate of board members this year. We conducted our elections and we were successful in filling all our seats. Please help us welcome our new board members. We at ATV MB truly appreciate your willingness to volunteer to step forward to let your name stand and hold a director seat on our provincial association. In giving up your free time to help build an ATV community for all of Manitoba. Contributing and making use stronger and more effective in managing our clubs. You will be the voice of the riders of Manitoba to our governing body.

We are all looking forward to an exciting season of riding an adventure this summer. Let’s hope we get some much-needed rain to support the fire suppression efforts of our firefighters and for all evacuees to return home. Once all the restrictions are lifted we’re sure to be out on the trails.
