2024 ATVMB Annual General Meeting Report

We are pleased to report that we have made progress on our

sustainable funding model, with the Manitoba Government proposing

The Off Road Trails and Safety Act for 2nd & 3rd reading in 2023, and

will legislate a $25 fee on all registered ORV’s as of April 1,2024. A

Sustainable Funding Agreement is proposed to be signed on June 19,

2024 (day after a By-Election as a payment is proposed to ATVMB in

early July and October, 2024) as a By-Election for a riding for an election

day of June 18, 2024 has prevented the Manitoba Government from

holding major meetings.

 

 ATVMB has a process for the Sustainable Funding Grant in 2023

(Interim for $50,000) and 2024 (Sustainable Funding for $500,000 –

with $400,000 to ATVMB member clubs and distributed based on trail

route kilometers) which has been adopted by the ATVMB board. The

payments for ATVMB will be $250,000 each for early July and October

2024.

 

 For 2023, COHV is no more and was taken over by MOTO CANADA.

For 2024, as of June 10, 2024 a letter was provided to ATVMB for a

grant of $22,500 to ATVMB for 2024. The contacts at MOTO CANADA

are Paul Demers and Cristina Bacara.

 

 A transition has occurred for ATVMB and previous Executive Director,

Kim Wozniak has retired and ceased her position as of August 31, 2023

and was presented with a plaque and an honorarium for her years of

service to ATVMB from 2013. Dan Lester has taken on the role of

Executive Director for ATVMB on September 1, 2023 and has brought

some options to go forward for ATVMB while it welcomes the era of

Sustainable Funding for ATVMB. (note: Dan Lester has not received

any compensation for activities as a concern was funding and

sustainable funding commitments from ATVMB funders)

 

 For 2024, ATVMB is still a member of CQC – Canadian Quad Council.

 

 For 2024, ATVMB has entered into an agreement with Safety Services

Manitoba for safety and training for ATV recreator activity. This is

important to Manitoba Government and Manitobans for the new

Sustainable Funding model legislation and ATVMB has additionally

committed to 80 training spots.

 

 For 2024, ATVMB has found out that for 2023 and forward that our

Clubs qualify for Workmen’s Compensation Board insurance (WCB)

and each club can apply if they choose. (a minimum of 4 positions are

needed for incorporated entities that have no employees for $25.00

each for a minimum of $100.00)

 

 For 2024, ATVMB after updating our Manitoba Government – ATVMB -

Crown Land Agreement, will apply for a 1 number – Crown Land Permit

for all of Manitoba (SNOMAN has this with Crown Lands)

 

 For 2024, ATVMB has gone from 8 Members Clubs to 10 Member Clubs

recently and we welcome the:

 

1. Snow Lake ATV Club Inc. and

2. Porcupine Forest ATV Club Inc. for which both have Existence

Status with ATVMB.

Our existing 8 ATVMB Member Clubs are:

1. Belair ATV Club Inc.

2. Eastman ATV Association Inc.

3. Interlake Offroad Club Corp.

4. North Interlake ATV Club Inc.

5. Rock Road ATV Club Inc.

6. South Interlake All Terrain Vehicle Association Inc.

7. Westman ATV Club Inc.

8. Woodridge ATV Sandhogs Inc.

 

 We continue to keep our members up to date on ATVMB Board

activities, with information sent to Club Presidents and ATVMB

Directors.
